Planning Philosophy
Keith Preston has an unmistakeable design philosophy
which connects classical tradition with modern technology.
At 16 he was a Scratch player, at 19 he has become a pro and
at 23 he has co-planned his first golf course.
He began playing golf at the age of 6 years.
" I had the luck to play during my youth primarily on 2 Alistair Mackenzie
Golf courses. Since then I am an admirer of classical golf architecture."
Apart from Mackenzie he gets his inspiration
from classical courses and architects such as James Braid,
Willie Park, H.S. Colt, Tom Simpson and W. H. Fowler.
"Like my role models I believe in a so-called hand-on method
to plan and build golf courses. Our courses are planned down to the last detail
but only if a planner spends a lot of time in the area, and becomes heart and
soul with his design and the area, is a really great golf course possible."
Our understanding and appreciation of the origins
of golf, the theory and psychology of the game and its changing
requirements has successfully led the firm to the forefront
of golf course design on the European scene.
„Our goal ist to
fulfil a need in the golf industry for top quality, cost
conscious and environmentally sympathetic golf course development.“
